July and August are the happiest time for children in Poland when they look into the calendar. With the end of June they begin the summer break. For their guardians it is relax period too – they usually take time off in their jobs cause it is marvelous moment to use free time in Poland
. There is only one uncertain thing – local climate.
That voiced pair of the months are the moment, when in Poland happens the highest temperature is very warm.

Commonly, after week with 30-35 Celsius degrees hot air close the Earth connect with cool wind coming from north. Together it is initiate monstrous, one-two days long storm with lightning. The biggest gales in national past times happened over 80 years ago. First one in July 1928 in Warsaw and neighborhood. That storm leads to enormous material
There is no summary information but local newapapers notified about 62 victims , over 150 wounded, destroyed buildings, telegraph poles and trees. Lightning bolts caused over 100 fires of houses. Second monstrous gale
occurred in July 1931 near Lublin. Local newapapers break the news about wind blowing at a speed of 500 km/h. In nowadays one of the most massive storm occurred between Wrocław and Łódź in 23rd of July 2009 – this two places are above 200 km away from each other. Gale (known as “Derecho”) causes death of 10 people and 100 injured. In Poland storms with lightning are annual phenomenon. Highest frequency of storms is in south part of country – in zones called Żywiecczyzna, Bieszczady Mountains and Tatra
Mountains it happen roughly one in ten days. Lowest recurrence is in the northern part – one in the 18 days.
